InBody USA has been selected to be the recipient of the 2015 Foreign Direct Investment Award. The Foreign Direct Investment Award honors foreign companies who have established US operations in the 5-county Southern California region that have made significant contributions to the local economy through financial investment.
The award will be presented to InBody USA at this year’s World Trade Week, a program of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 5th.
“We are pleased to present InBody USA with the 2015 World Trade Week Foreign Direct Investment Award,” said Carlos J. Valderrama, senior vice president of Global Initiatives for the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. “This award recognizes the positive economic impact the company’s U.S. headquarters facility in Cerritos has created through local employment, new research platforms and prototype launches.”
InBody was founded in South Korea in 1996 and launched InBody USA in Beverly Hills in 2000. Since then, InBody USA has enjoyed steady growth, adding new internal departments and relocating to a larger base in Cerritos, CA in 2013.
In addition to generating new jobs in Los Angeles, InBody USA has invested in both LA and Orange County businesses due to its expanding needs and concerns. A recent rebranding (formerly Biospace) has been the cause of significant direct investment in Southern California construction and design companies, which handled all of the remodeling needs and expansion.
InBody is proud to add the Foreign Direct Investment Award to its recent accolades, which include the 2014 Red Dot Design Award, the 2015 iF Design Award, and the 2015 CES Innovation Award.
