The body composition devices available in the 1990s were inaccurate, unreliable, and often useless for the people who needed them most.

Upon recognizing this in the early 1990s, our founder and CEO Dr. Kichul Cha — drawing from his background in mechanical engineering — set out to design something better: a device that could deliver precise, actionable insights without the guesswork.
In 1996, he founded InBody. Two years later, the first InBody device was born.

Dr. Cha founds Biospace Co., Ltd, later renamed to InBody Co., Ltd. in 2014.

InBody releases the InBody 2.0, the world's first BCA device high in both reproducibility and accuracy.
